About the Author

Henry W. Lim, MD earned his medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, USA and completed his dermatology residency at the New York University School of Medicine. He is chair emeritus of the Department of Dermatology, senior vice president for academic affaris at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit. Dr. Lim is former president of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Board of Dermatology, and American Dermatological Association. He has published more than 400 articles and served as editor or co-editor for eight textbooks.

Dr. Kohen is an associate residency program director at the Department of Dermatology, Henry Ford Health System, and practices as a pigmented lesions specialist. She was chief resident during her final year of residency at Henry Ford.

Dr. Schneider is a resident in dermatology at Henry Ford Health System. She earned her medical degree from AlbertEinstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York, USA.

Dr. Yeager is a resident in dermatology at Henry Ford Health System. She earned her medical degree from Rutgers, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey, USA.

Purpose: The purpose is to aid dermatologists in making accurate assessments and choosing appropriate treatments for patients with common skin diseases.
Audience: The audience is clinical dermatologists and dermatology residents.
Features: The book coaches readers on what you do not want to miss and provides a therapeutic stepladder treatment list along with attendant precautions and laboratory assessments. A list of differential diagnoses is provided for every disease. The book uses a bullet-point format mixed with clinical tips, such as where to best perform a biopsy for vasculitis or an inflammatory bullous disorder. One unique feature is the inclusion of statements about how long a given treatment takes to work. Many tables summarize phototherapy protocols, differences among dermal filler properties, staging skin cancers, etc.
