This book provides respiratory care students a systematic approach to understanding the plethora of mathematics involved in the field. The 17 chapters include material ranging from basic through comprehensive clinical equations, including the significance of each. Every chapter includes practice exercises at the end, with a 50-question post-test in the appendix. The format allows readers an opportunity to gauge their comprehension. The purpose is to provide a complete understanding of the mathematics involved in clinical practice of respiratory care. The end of chapter exercises and post-test allow the reader to determine the level of comprehension through a series of quiz formats. Although the book targets the respiratory care student, it also serves as an excellent review for practitioners preparing for the National Board for Respiratory Care exams. It also will be useful as a reference guide to daily clinical assessment. This text/workbook contains 17 chapters ranging from basic through comprehensive clinical equations including explanations of the significance of each. The glossary serves as a quick reference to understanding the many abbreviations used throughout the text. Although there are no references, the nature of the material is straightforward and does not require further explanation. This book will be a valuable asset to respiratory care students and experienced practitioners as well.
