This book helps in developing a replication system for those who will implement it and needs a complete reference to be used as a guide. It has a lot of detailed information for beginners but certainly covers intermediate and senior levels questions. Excellent reference to check any step you may not miss, with screen pictures, explanations of why we¿d need to perform such action. Another valuable point found in the book is: the tips, the cautions and the notes that we easily understand that certainly it¿s a plus for the chapter and the subject. With so many replication system options that we have, the author included a chapter that covers heterogeneous environments. The information available in the book is very clear, organized, consistent and very well presented. Regarding the transactional replication, the author wasn¿t only worried in showing how to configure using GUI or T-SQL, he also released a whole chapter explaining the internals which is extremely good for those technicians who want to troubleshoot and also autonomy to manage and understand the transactional environment. I strong recommend the book for the tech crew from beginners in replication systems to seniors who want to review their knowledge and possibly apply new rep strategy. I also would like to see a chapter about troubleshooting.
