About the Author

Tom McHugh was born and raised in Nevada and has lived there almost all his life. He worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad for 42 years—most of them as a locomotive engineer. During that time, there were only four years, from 1970 to 1973, where he didn’t live in the beautiful state of Nevada. At his first opportunity, he moved back, spending as much time as possible at his family cabin in Jarbidge. He retired from the railroad in 2012 and since then his goal has been enjoying his grandchildren and telling them stories like Rabbits’ Dance Hall and the Tsawhawbitts. Mission accomplished!
