Rainbow Bridge: An Adoption Story

Rainbow Bridge is a book for parents to read to their children to let them know that they were adopted. It is intended to help children of all ages understand that they are special and that they were specifically chosen to be in their particular family. Even if the child is an infant, the book is meant to be read from the very beginning to allow the child's parents to get used to verbalizing the word adoption. The other message of the book is that families come in all different color combinations. Whether you are all the same color, or a combination of many, that is what makes your family special.

Chapter One

Someplace there is a mommy and daddy who can't make a baby. They are sad.

They are looking and praying for a child to care for and love. They want to adopt a child.

In another place there is me. I am looking and praying for a mommy and daddy to love and care for me. I want to be adopted.

To be adopted means you are special and mommy and daddy love you very, very much.

When people in two different places pray for each other, God hears their prayers and puts them together by making a rainbow bridge.

A rainbow is a promise from God.

Rainbows are made of all different colors, and they live happily together.

Sometimes families are also made of all different colors.
