About the Author

Patrick McGuinness is a prize-winning poet whose two collections have been translated into several languages, and of various books on French and British literature. He has written two novels, The Last Hundred Days, which was longlisted for the Booker Prize and others, and Throw Me To the Wolves, which won the Encore Award and a memoir, Other People’s Countries, which also won Wales Book of the Year. He is Professor of French and Comparative Literature at Oxford University, and lives in Oxford and Caernarfon.
