Life on Tír isn't so bad. The Tuatha de Dannan elves make sure that humans survive. They make sure there's enough food, and sufficient humans around to perform the necessary chores. No more than required though. Breeding must be controlled. Humans are the farmers, the workers, they do most of the fighting and dying in their wars. A lucky few are kept as favored pets.

People just accept it, it's always been this way, ever since the elves started breeding their ancestors, who were kidnapped from Earth thousands of years ago. The faerie folk came and stole away the babies, the adventurers attracted to join in with the fae feasts never came home. Even now, human mating is strictly controlled. People follow the professions of their forefathers. Everything is dictated by the tuath, that's just the way it is.

Or it was, until the orcs came, carrying war and freedom on the tide. Orlach, a charismatic orkin is leading the rising. Recruited and inspired by his elven general Ender, a mage and blademaster who sees how corrupt the system is. Ender knows how much the humans of Tír have been stunted by their management - he's been to modern day Earth, first tuath to open a portal in 900 years. He brought back some very useful people and a lot of firepower. Former Irish Army Rangers, have now trained orkin warriors and human rebels. The Rebels of Tír have 21st Century tech to give them a chance against the magic and blademasters of the mighty empire of the Tuatha de Dannan.
