About the Author

Athanasios Voulodimos was born in Athens, Greece, in 1984. He received his Dipl.-Ing. degree from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2007, ranking among the top 2% of his class. In 2010 he acquired an MSc in "Techno-economic Systems" after completing a two year Master's program co-organized by the National Technical University of Athens and the University of Piraeus. In 2011 he received his PhD from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of NTUA in the area of computer vision and machine learning focusing on behavior recognition from video. He has been and is currently involved in National and European research projects, such as SCOVIS, My-e-Director 2012, and VISION Cloud. He is currently leading the Construction Activity of the EU EXPERIMEDIA IP project. He has published more than 35 papers in international conferences, workshops, and journals. His main research interests include computer vision, machine learning, as well as ubiquitous and cloud computing.
