Reflections from the Beach: Poems of Life, Love, Loss and Redemption
Reflections from the Beach is a collection of the writer's poetry written over the course of his life. The poet specifically chose these thirty-seven poems from his poetry writings to share with the reader. These poems represent a life-time of personal experiences and observations, ranging from romantic light-hearted verse to profound and raw emotional expression connected to various people, places, and events. Each poem reflects the diverse feelings and ruminations that can consume the heart, mind, soul, and spirit of an individual engaged in the art of living and thinking. This artful approach can exist whether the engagement is with others or just oneself as a human being. It is his belief and feeling as a poet that the soul of these poems is life; their heart is love; their sacrifice is loss; and their enduring spirit is redemption. It is the poet's hope that the reader finds beauty, connection, humor, insight, inspiration, peace and truth in perhaps identifying with the words and reflections that he has chosen to share.

About the Author

RJ CIVILE is still humbled and inspired with each morning sunrise watched from a quiet beach in any and every season. He believes that mercy is the heart of love, and that an act of forgiveness confirms the divinity that exists in each of us. He wants children to be innocent and protected, and he wants to bask in the joy of their infectious laughter; wants the elderly people who think themselves useless to feel valued and cherished; wants the unlovable to feel love; wants human hunger and loneliness vanquished; wants hate and violence to have no place in the human condition; wants every hurting heart to experience unconditional healing; and wants all of God’s children to know the omnipresent Creator of all existence loves each one of us in a unique and specific way, and created us to love each other as brothers and sisters in that same vein. He lives by the beach with his best bud, his dog Beckett, who puts up with his ardent attempts at singing and playing piano in return for numerous treats and long walks.
