About the Author

Todd E Rasmussen, MD, FACS is Professor and Vice Chair of Education and Senior Associate Consultant in Vascular Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Prior to joining the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Rasmussen had a 28 year career in the Air Force during which he directed the Department of Defense Combat Casualty Care Research Program and was Professor of Surgery and Associate Dean of Research at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Maryland.
