About the Author

D. W. Linden's early experiences with the National Indian Youth Council and American Indian Movement were part of the background for SAND CREEK, the first in the Johnny Hart Mystery Series. The second book in the series, ROCKY FORD, grew out of his time living in Southeast Colorado and working as a disc jockey and radio news director. His historical fiction novel, THE SECOND SON, looks at the opening of the Santa Fe Trail from the Native American and Hispanic perspective of those on the receiving end of America's "Manifest Destiny". D. W. Linden has been a carpenter, cab driver, ordained minister, school teacher, musician and attorney.
