Norka, a German colony in the Volga region of Russia, is the backdrop for this story of love and betrayal during the twilight years of imperial Russia. About the Author

Danny was an elementary school teacher for 30 years. After retiring from teaching, Danny decided to pursue writing. Danny's ancestors lived in Norka, Russia, for a number of generations. His great-grandfather, along with his family, immigrated to Canada prior to the First World War. Danny researched Norka extensively. As he got to know more about his link to Norka and of the Volga Germans, he felt there was a story to tell. His family was able to get out of Russia when many Volga Germans were unable to do so. This is the story of one family who never left Norka.
