Sand Sack: Sand Sack; Singing Sands Sing No Secrets
In this third book of BioFables, the Maloney family explores the Indiana Dunes State Park and National Lakeshore. Seven-year-old Mallory discovers more than just cooler sand when he settles into a small trench he dug near the bottom of a dune.

Wild squirrels allow everyone to hold and pet them, right? Mallory's twin sister, Melody, doesn't think there's anything special about the way she was able to calm a frightened little squirrel.

Living dunes and singing sands share their neighborhood with quaking bogs and tree graveyards. Insects eat plants...in most cases. Here, some plants eat insects.

The discoveries don't stop when the family returns home. Mallory's father discovers a rather large souvenir of their visit in the back of their car. Find out how much trouble Mallory is in at the start of Book 4, Mississippi Palisades.

About the Author

Gucwa’s 40+ years of management consulting and several years as a research biochemist before that laid the foundation for BioFables’ Science/Technology elements. These career experiences also contributed to Gucwa’s philosophy that coupling these “hard” knowledge elements with an understanding -- and application -- of Society and Self (so-called “soft” skills) is a powerful recipe for the balanced and fulfilling life she hopes her BioFables readers will achieve.

She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Illinois Institute of Technology and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. She has been a member of the Institute of Management Consultants since 1983 and earned Emeritus status in 2023.
