The book also includes The Notion Club Papers, a semi-fictional discussion between a group of Oxford Dons of the possibilities of travel in space and time and the legend of Atlantis. The third part of the book is devoted to a new version of the Numenorean legend - The Drowning of Anadune.

Tolkien (1892-1973) was an English writer, poet, philologist, and university professor who is best known as the author of the classic high-fantasy books The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings series (The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King).
