About the Author

Shelley Stoehr is the critically acclaimed, award-winning author of four novels for young adults and four stories in YA anthologies. Most recently, she is the co-author of the paranormal, YA thriller, Weresisters with author John Patrick Kennedy (December 2014). Shelley's first book, Crosses, was also the first novel for young adults about self-injury. In the 1990's, School Library Journal said, "Stoehr's narrative flow is a strength, as is her ability to capture the rhythms, attitudes, and feelings of teens," and in 2011, blogger Dave Kiersh wrote, "Stoehr writes about young women in a way that few others do. She presents characters and gives a voice to girls that are seldom heard about in today's commodified popular culture." In 2012, Chicklish wrote (about Stoehr's Somebody's Daughter), "This is one for readers who enjoy thought-provoking, intense fiction."

Saving Bone is Shelley's first novel for middle graders.
