In the final First Wives novel by New York Times bestselling author Catherine Bybee, falling in love could become the most dangerous dare of one woman’s life.

Protector-for-hire Sasha Budanov is accustomed to life as a loner. Always on the move, she’s now reached a crossroad. Looking for answers about her shadowy youth, she’s returned to the strict boarding school in Germany where she was raised. It’s also where she was trained in the stealthy, militarized art of survival. But behind its gleaming gates, Richter is a fortress of secrets, including those buried in Sasha’s mysterious past. To uncover them, she’s clinging to her first rule of defense: stay guarded.

If anyone can challenge Sasha’s rules, it’s devilishly sexy stranger AJ Hofmann. He wants answers, too. And he needs Sasha’s help. The recent deaths of several of Richter’s former students—including AJ’s own sister—have aroused his suspicions. He’s arousing something more in Sasha. Never one to surrender to her emotions, she senses something tempting in AJ. She trusts him. He’s fearless. And he kisses like a demon. Sasha’s found her match.

But treading Richter’s dark halls—and following their hearts—has its risks. As the decades-old secrets of the past are mined, Sasha and AJ are falling deeper in love…and into danger.

I have loved the First wives series and although Sasha isn’t a wife, I was intrigued with her possible story. Catherine Bybee did not disappoint! We have seen Sasha as a loner and all around badass woman in some of the other books so it was great to see the wall slowly crumble with her character. This book was well worth the wait! #SayItAgain

Oh, what a way to end this series! Sasha is restless and decides to return to the school in Germany where she ends up meeting A.J. who is looking into his sister's death. His sister was also a graduate of the school. Twists and turns and intrigue and soon they are chasing leads back in the states and enlisting the team with Neil and Reid and back 0n the ranch with Trina and Wade. So much fun to catch up with the women of the First Wives Club and watch Sasha take the fall at the end! I really enjoyed this entire series and recommend it. **Received this ARC for review from the publisher via NetGalley**

When AJ goes looking for answers in the death of his sister, he never expects to find love in the shape of a sexy and insanely talented woman named Sasha. Say It Again has mystery, intrigue, hot passion and amazing characters put this all together and you have a wonderful way to spend your time loosing yourself in this story. A must read and the perfect close to this series.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy. Could not wait for Sasha's story! She was so mysterious in the previous books and snuck in and out and you just wanted more of her. She sets up a huge chain reaction when she goes back and visits the "boarding" school she attended and graduated from. There are a few twists and turns that you do not see coming and I could not put the book down! When Sasha meets AJ, there is not the instant love as Sasha is not used to this emotion and it kind of grows along the way as they research why AJ's sister was killed. I loved that we see the other members of the First Wives and a mention of Samantha and Blake and a book that sounds pretty similar to theirs! Glad the wait for the book is over and that it exceeded my expectations but sorry that all the wives are now married and it looks like the series has ended.

This is more of a suspense novel than a romance. If you’ve read Bybee’s earlier books in this series, you’ve been introduced to the mysterious Sasha. She possesses unbelievable skills but always appeared on the periphery. Now she’s the main character and we find out more about her background and how she developed her amazing skills. She was educated on a weird sort of military school in Germany where graduates are often recruited for all sorts of spy agencies and even more nefarious tasks. In this novel, she seeks to uncover why some alumni of the school have been mysteriously murdered. One of the victims was the sister of AJ Hofmann, a charming and good-looking guy who has sought to investigate on his own. I found myself not really caring about the mystery since it was all so improbable. I just couldn’t believe any of it, but was willing to suspend disbelief. I just couldn’t warm up to Sasha as a romantic heroine. She is portrayed as cold, almost an automaton except for her unspoken affection for the women and families of the First Wives Club. AJ might have been charming, but he really didn’t have that much going for him. He tags along as Sasha does all the investigating and espionage. All he’s done in his life was steal cars. Really? If you’re looking for a hero who is good-looking and clearly crazy about the heroine, but really doesn’t have much else going for him, then AJ is your guy. I needed something more to really enjoy him and didn’t find it. I was disappointed because I had really enjoyed the other books in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

Sasha is at a crossroads in her life after fulfilling a long-time mission and having nothing on her agenda she’s not sure what’s next. Ritcher is the military type boarding school that molded her into the woman she is today and so she decides to visit her old school and ends up with a mystery to solve in the process. Enter AJ. His sister, a previous student of Richter, has been murdered and AJ is determined to find her killer. AJ wasn’t super close to his sister, so he decides to trace her past and find out if it had anything to do with her murder. He hits a roadblock with Richter, they’re secretive sending up all kinds of red flags for AJ, so he hits up Sasha for help. While the previous books in the First Wives series have been more contemporary romance with a bit of romantic suspense, Say it Again is more of an action/romantic suspense story. Sasha (as the interview below points out) is kind of like a female James Bond. She’s been a savior and protector of the heroines in the past stories, so I’m happy to get the story behind this badass woman! As an orphan in foster homes and then as a student in Richter, Sasha is used to being on her own without anyone having her back, so it’s a new experience to have AJ, Reed, Trina, and the gang at her back providing not only support and protection, but a place where she fits in as family. The romance between AJ and Sasha was fitted in between solving AJ’s sister’s murder, and evading danger, but whenever they had a minute it was electric and passionate! Even with the intense attraction between them, Sasha and AJ didn’t just jump into a relationship, there was a lot going on and each were focused on finding Amelia’s killer as well as what is really going on at Richter. They got to know each other bit by bit under tense circumstances, forming a bond with an attraction that eventually couldn’t be ignored. The slow progression from attraction to more, felt right for the story. I really enjoyed Say it Again with the extra amount of danger, action, and thrills thrown into the mix! Never a dull moment with this fast-paced story, and I’m pleased with how it all turned out! There’s potential for more action/thriller/romance books with a few of the characters introduced here. Maybe Claire or Olivia? I guess we’ll see if Ms. Bybee decides to continue their stories. I look forward to whatever she decides to write in the future.

Loved reading the extraordinary, phenomenally amazing fifth book in the First Wives series. A. J. needs to discover who murdered his sister and why. When Sasha shows up at her old school, A.J. asks for her help in solving his sister's mysterious death. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, engaging and riveting from cover to cover, and a must read love story.

Oh, Catherine Bybee you have brought a character that I loved reading about in past books of yours and made her a true hero. Sasha had a history that was very much a secret. She kept to herself, didn’t let anyone get close but was always around, somewhere. She was only a phone call away and she’d be there to lend a hand. I love that Sasha was kept as a secret, she kept her secrets close, she didn’t open her heart up, and she stayed alone. She lived her life by her rules and held herself accountable for what was happening around her. She was strong, she was tough but as the story continued, I got glimpses into her heart. I saw that she cared and that she wanted to find love. AJ is the perfect person for her. He respects her boundaries and quirks but doesn’t let her settle for less than the best. He pushes her to let him in but understands that there are something he may never know about her. Together they worked perfectly. This is the last book in the First Wives series and it was the perfect ending. Each book can be read alone but the characters do crossover into each other’s books.

OMG! I loved this book! Sasha has been a mysterious character in other stories in this series. I had wondered about her and was really looking forward to her story. It didn't disappoint for a moment. She's a little lost now that her father no longer poses a threat to her. She is a lone wolf. Her story uncovers details of how she grew up and explains so much. I couldn't have imagined a better match for her than AJ. The story starts when AJ approaches Sasha to get some answers about his sister's death. It's a roller coaster ride from there! There were lots of twists and turns. The book was so much fun! It reintroduced a few characters from previous books and introduced a few newer ones. I'm really hoping that some of them get future stories! The book was fabulous - great characters with a lot of chemistry and a lot of excitement. I look forward to reading more from Catherine Bybee! I received an advance copy from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Sasha Badenov, the enigmatic protector of the quartet of First Wives, finally gets her story! After showing up in all the previous books, I was so hoping we’d learn a bit more about her background. It happened and I’m ecstatic! Sasha returns to her ‘roots’, the school in Germany where she was a student. She is drifting and bored. Perhaps she wants to find meaning to her existence and why she was targeted to get the ‘special’ education, or not. She’s drawn there but can’t explain it. A.J. Hofman, a grieving brother, heads to the school his sister attended to try to find out why she was killed. He’s stumbled upon some links that point to something rotten at the school but can’t quite put them together. Together Sasha and A.J. must tackle the stonewalling by the headmistress to find out exactly what happened. This leads to the discovery of years of targeted grooming of students for less than honorable employment. Say It Again has everything! Suspense, sex, female empowerment, twists and turns, family dynamics, and finally a fabulous resolution. I loved it. I also loved Claire!! I want to see where she is in 10 years! Perhaps a short story? Please? I’m sad to see this series end, but it’s been a great series to follow and enjoy over and over!

Wow!!! I devoured this book in one day, could not put it down. I was so excited to get Sasha's story and this did not disappoint. Protector for Hire, Sasha has returned to her boarding school in Germany to gather information on her past when she meets AJ, also looking for answers on the death of his sister. They will join forces to get to the bottom of her death and along the way find many secrets about Richter. This is a compelling story with many twists and turns and falling in love when you least expect it. Loved the epilogue, a great way to tie in the previous stories. Always hard to say good bye. This book is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone.

If you like a tough heroine that can really kick tale, Sasha is the one for you. She was trained as a child to fight and learned on her own how to hack into computer systems. There’s nothing this woman can’t do, except stay in one place and develop relationships. When A.J. signals her out to help him find clues to his sister’s murder, Sasha is hesitant. But soon she’s leading the way and A.J. willingly follows. With the help of Reed and Neil as well as their team of experts, they find connections to Richter, the boarding school she grew up in that is more than it appears to be on the surface. While the romance is rather light, the action and mystery is constantly unraveling. From Europe to the U.S., this story takes us on a high octane journey to find solutions to more than the murderer. It’s a tangled web that requires everyone’s expertise to untangle and I loved watching it happen. Sasha isn’t the type of heroine I like to hunt out. I enjoy a tough female character, but Sasha was so cold and rarely showed any emotion. However, there was no doubt that she wanted something more but didn’t have a clue what it was or how it would look if she ever came across it. It’s safe to say that she grew on me the more I got to know her. Likewise, A.J. isn’t all alpha. He tends to be the underdog and follows Sasha lead. But I did love his ability to smile and be lighthearted, bringing some of that into her life. With all the action and constant changes of scenery, this felt like a fast read. I never skimmed because I wasn’t sure if I’d miss a clue or a vital piece of character revelation. The chemistry between Sasha and A.J. was always evident and I felt this was more about the mysteries than the romance. Nevertheless, it was a really interesting read and one I’d highly recommend if thrillers with a touch of romance are your thing.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book to leave an honest review. I loved Catherine's Weekday Bride series and all of the First Wives series so far. She has a great writing style that is easy to follow and read. You can read each book as a standalone but it is fun that characters from the previous books show up still. This books follows Sasha, who is showed up in book one of the First Wives series but it took a while for us to figure out who she is. Now that things have settled with four women who she has basically been protecting in the previous books, Sasha finds herself at loose ends and doesn't know what to do with herself. She has been trained from an early age and now it seems her skills aren't quite needed as much anymore. So she decides to go back to the school that taught her everything she knows to see if she can find some direction. AJ is in Germany trying to investigate the school after his sister was murdered. He believes there is a connection so when he sees Sasha outside the school at a bar talking to one of the teachers, he tries to get her to help him investigate. Sasha reluctantly decides to help after she finds some other coincidences that just don't add up; she just doesn't want to work with a partner. The two go on a crazy journey as they try to follow all the leads all while avoiding the authorities. Because of course the people they are after cause trouble by framing them for crimes they didn't commit. Sasha and AJ have to enlist the help of some of the powerful friends to has made over the years to figure it out but everything eventually it all comes to a head. Once it is all over, the real question is can Sasha find it in her to open her heart? She's a loner and orphan who doesn't know how to give her heart. Can AJ worm his way in so she can't live without him? Overall a really good book but a bit confusing trying to follow all of the twists and turns. Out of all of her books, I had the most trouble with this one. There are certain points that took me a while to figure and some connections that I still don't understand how they work into the overall plot. I was so excited to read Sasha's book because she is such a strong character that I was slightly disappointed in the book and how it played out. Still got my happy ending though.

**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review** While I'm sad that Catherine Bybee's First Wives series is coming to an end, I can't think of a better way for it to go out than for us to finally get the book that so many of us have hoped we would for so long. Throughout the entire series, Sasha Budanov has been the enigma. While not actually a member of the First Wives Club, she was always dropping in to help her friends when necessary. We quickly learned she was a loner and that she was as capable as anyone, but that was about all we knew. In this book we finally get to know what makes the elusive Sasha tick. When Sasha returns to the military-type boarding school that she attended in search of answers about her childhood and even more about what direction she needed to go next in her life, she unknowingly set off a chain of events that was even more far reaching than she could have imagined. AJ Hoffmann is searching for answers of his own and he believes that Sasha is just the person to help him. He's discovered that several students from Richter, the school Sasha attended, have ended up dead, his sister included, and he believes they are connected. At first Sasha is incredibly guarded and wary of this sinful stranger, but she quickly realizes that he may be on to something and he also may be just the person she needs in her own life. As Sasha and AJ delve deeper into what happened with the former students, they are also discovering that there are feelings developing between the two of them, something that is completely foreign to Sasha. Will she be able to trust AJ and all of her friends to help her figure out the secrets that the walls of Richter hold? And will she finally be able to hear the three words that have alluded her for all of her life? I enjoyed this book so much. I was on the edge of my seat just waiting for the next thing to happen and I loved how the usually unflappable Sasha was riled up by AJ and how he was able to see through her right to the heart of who she is. Like I said, I'm sad this series is over, but it's been an amazing run and I have no doubt that whatever Catherine Bybee has for us next will be equally as entertaining!

I was so excited when I found out that we were getting Sasha's story even though she isn't a First Wife. She has been in this series from the very first book and has been this mysterious woman. She never let anyone close or disclosed anything about herself, but she was always there when anyone needed her. You just knew there was so much to learn about her character. Sometimes with an anticipated character like hers, the background just can't compare once you learn it. Boy is that not the case here. The author did Sasha justice. When I think of Sasha, I reminded of an older tv show called the Alias with Jennifer Garner, but more badass. I just love a heroine who can can outsmart and take down a person before they even know what's coming. That's Sasha. I loved her! AJ was nothing like I expected for Sasha, and yet he seemed to fit her perfectly. She needed someone that wouldn't feel threatened by all that she is. He also still needed to be a strong character himself, as well as be patient to be able to breakdown all those walls she had. It was a tall order, but he fit it seamlessly. There was an unexpected side character that really added a lot to this book. I think that was such a brilliant move of the author. It brought more heart to Sasha and was another piece to broke down those walls she had. I would love to say more but I liked that I wasn't expecting that character, so I'm going to leave it. I loved seeing all the gang from all the previous books again. This is one of my favorite series and I'm completely satisfied with how the author concluded it. I highly recommend this series and I know I will be re-reading it again and again.
