About the Author

S.R. Daugherty is a retired high school mathematics teacher. His late wife taught French and Kindergarten. He has a son, three granddaughters, and a daughter-in-law from France. He plays in the bluegrass band Highway 5 Overdrive, and has written several copyrighted songs.He's a gardener, day hiker, and gym rat. He has won his age group twice in 5K races. Before getting into the teaching industry, S.R.Daugherty sold several fantasy and science fiction stories-most of these are collected in Ballad of the Rails and Other Stories (2022, available in paperback & Kindle.) He's also published non-fiction in Bluegrass Unlimited and other periodicals. His other interests and emotional investments include: Japanese maples, Russian novels, Georgia Bulldogs football, Martin guitars, sixteenth century choral music, and silent movies.
