About the Author

Linda M. Stroud, Ph.D., is a retired science educator with 48 years of experience and the last 14 years as a safety consultant INRCC-CHO (Retired). She owned and was President, Science & Safety Consulting Services, Inc. Dr. Stroud held certifications in Manager of Environmental Safety and Health, Advanced Safety C, OSHA Authorized General Industry Outreach Trainer, Bloodborne Pathogen Instructor, First Aid, AED, & CPR. She delivered safety presentations across the mainland U.S. and Hawaii.

Dr. Stroud received her B.S. in Science Education from East Carolina University, an M.S. and Ph.D in Botany from North Carolina State University. She developed her expertise in Chemistry from numerous National Science Foundation Programs at universities such as Uni of WI-Madison, Princeton University, Hope College and others. Her Safety certifications were obtained from NCSU, National Safety Counsel and ACS Division of Chemical Health and Safety.

She currently lives in Winterville, NC.

Kevin S. Doyle, Ed.D. is a veteran educator with 28 years of experience in education, the last 11 as the District Supervisor of Science at the Morris Hills Regional District in New Jersey. He is the co-creator and coordinator of the Math & Science Magnet Program and the creator and coordinator of the Aviation & Aerospace Program for the District. He and his staff deliver science safety presentations across New Jersey.


Dr. Doyle received his B.S. in Physics from Seton Hall University, an M.Ed. in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from Walden University, an M.S. in Educational Leadership from New England College, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Rutgers University.

Dr. Doyle lives in Northwestern NJ with his wife Yvonne and their two sons.

Kenneth R. Roy, Ph.D. is currently Director of Environmental Health & Safety for Glastonbury P.S. in Glastonbury, CT. He served as GPS K-12 Director of Science & Physics/Chemistry teacher until 2006. He serves as the Chief Safety Compliance Adviser to the National Science Teaching Association (NSTA) & Safety Compliance Officer for the National Science Education Leadership Association (NSELA).

Dr. Roy received his B.S. degree in biology/general science and, a master’s degree in science from Central Connecticut State University (CT), a Diploma in Professional Education & doctoral degree in C&I and, administration at The University of Connecticut (CT).

Dr. Roy resides in Connecticut with his wife Marisa and daughter Louise.
