Selma, besos y embrollos
A funny story full of awkward moments, it invites us to reflect on sexuality, diversity, and the adventures— and complexities— of growing up. What happens to Selma? First, her period comes, and suddenly, everyone starts talking about kisses. But she's only 12! Her mother has a new job, which means she's rarely home anymore. Now Selma has to learn to grow up alongside her father, who, although he tries hard, sometimes doesn't quite know how to handle the situation. One day, a mysterious list appears at school, ranking girls from 0 to 10 based on their appearance. How cruel! Selma teams up with her friends to find the culprits and, in the process, discovers some things about herself and her surroundings. A story that challenges conventions. Written in inclusive language!

About the Author

Julia C. Gó mez Sá ez (Madrid, 1980) earned a BA in Translation and Interpreting at the Pontifical University of Comillas and a MA in Language Science and Hispanic Linguistics at the National University of Distance Education. She translates from English, French, and German into Spanish. She is an associate professor in the Translation and Interpreting program at the Complutense University of Madrid and researches the translation of comics. She has translated authors such as Heather O'Neill, Lucy Cousins, Lisa Fittko, Belinda Alexandra, Maurane Mazars, Julia Rothman, and Walter Isaacson. Laura Melina Berling, who almost prefers to be called Lina, is a feminist blogger online and on Instagram under the name @littlefeministblog. There, she addresses topics primarily related to the body, sexuality, mental health, intersectionality, and gender. She also works as a freelance author and offers advice as a social educator to young people in difficult life situations. In her private life, she likes to cuddle with her cat, Kartoffel, and tries not to get bogged down in the chaos. Hannah Rö del studied Fine Arts at the Offenbach School of Design and has been drawing all her life. Her illustrations have also been used in animations and even as inspiration for ceramic sculptures. Her work often addresses feminist themes, body image, and LGBTQ+ empowerment, although other times she's just talking about cats and chaos.
