SEXUAL TRAUMA: A CHALLENGE NOT INSANITY, A Revolutionary Approach To Treatment & Recovery From Sexual Abuse and PTSD:
Psychological trauma caused by sexual abuse is our single most misunderstood and mistreated condition, directly or indirectly affecting tens of millions. Most victims live with the stigma of the resultant "insanity," and deeply rooted shame, guilt and self-torture, their lives permeated by a frightening secret they carry buried within. In spite of its enormous prevalence, social costs and human suffering, sexual trauma has been mistreated, misdiagnosed and mismanaged by professionals, victims and their families.

Sexual Trauma: A Challenge Not Insanity, by Prof. Koock Elan Jung, MD, first tells the story of famous leaders, writers, actors, singers, dancers and other creative, powerful people are among the victims of sexual trauma who have triumphed over their past by creatively transforming their pain. From these stories will come a starling new recognition and perspective on the victims of sexual trauma, people who are not merely victims, but often dynamic individuals who changed our world, like the Lost Generation of the 1920s or the Beat Generation of the 1940s and 1950s

Sexual Trauma: A Challenge Not Insanity then considers how we understand sexual trauma, its psychiatric consequences and how that has been changed and undermined over the years by psychiatric fads. Dr. Jung also cogently explains how symptoms of a special type of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder that victims experience are routinely confused with their cause, how those causes affect victims and the only proper way to treat the victims of sexual trauma. He concludes with advice for the victims of sexual trauma, their families and friends and the professionals who treat them.

Sexual Trauma: A Challenge Not Insanity is a thought provoking landmark book that is certain to change not only our perceptions of the victims of sexual trauma, but also the great impact those people have had on our world.
