About the Author

MARY WASCHE is a journalist and photographer who lives in Minnesota. She is the author of Escape to Alaska, Resolute Heart, Murder in Wasilla, and Now or Never. With Stan Jones, she is co-author of the forthcoming Palm Springs-based mystery, Slab City. She is a former resident of Alaska.



STAN JONES is a native of Alaska and a former Bush pilot, award-winning journalist, and environmental advocate. He is the creator of the critically acclaimed Alaska-based Nathan Active mysteries, as well as the forthcoming Palm Springs-based mystery, Slab City, with Mary Wasche. Making Sherlock a woman is an interesting idea and very much in the zeitgeist right now. The tone of this film is fun and playful while tackling serious topics, yet it still works and brings a nice lightness to the narrative. The love triangle at the end is a fun reveal that adds depth to Eva, Watson, and Adler and could be expanded on even further. Fagin is a well-developed character who presents and interesting side to the film and his littles are creepy yet intriguing at the same time.
