Rex Gunner. As bitter as he is beautiful.

Amazing. If you have read The Bleeding Stars series and fell in love with them, Show me the Way is as amazing. A.L. Jackson is a wonderful, compelling writer who grabs you, yanks you into the book and doesn't release you until tears of joy and surprise have been shed. This is a must read.

Tortured souls longing for more in this lonely world. Show Me the Way is a second chance...third....fourth chance romance. It seems like Rex Gunner has no room for anything in his busy life. Not a girlfriend, not a friend with benefits, and certainly not the smoking hot sinful new neighbor. His intense attraction has him being an even bigger jerk to her. Rynna has come back for a new start on an old dream. But even this start leaves her questioning the dream. Only loyalty to her grandmother will keep her here. I mean the scenery is nice. The neighbor is hot. She has new friends too but the ghosts that haunt and taunt have her shaking with self doubt. I loved second chance romances. I love when the parties fight their attraction and connection. Show Me the Way has both those and more. It has a beautiful heart stealing little girl, an overprotective fearful father, and best friends who would do anything for you. It's a great mix and a sweet book.

"All moments matter. We just rarely know how important they are until the chance to act on them has already passed." Another hit out of the ballpark for A. L. Jackson! Her books continue to go on my favorites list. This one is heartfelt with a bit of a twist. Even though I saw it coming, I still loved everything about this book.

I always know when I pick up an A.L. Jackson book I'm going to be taken on a ride of emotions. This one is no different. There's a bit of mystery in the beginning on the book. You want to know what Rynna is running from. And Rex, that man is full of so much pain. It broke my heart seeing him push Rynna away, and not allowing himself to feel anything for anyone. I loved Rex's daughter, Frankie Leigh. She is fun little girl who chases whatever catches her fancy at the moment. This book has angst, hot sexy times, and so much more. I loved the twists and turns the story took, and the side characters. They are as loveable as the Rex and Rynna. I can't wait to read more about them. I don't want to give too much away. This is a journey you need to feel every step of the way.

5 huge stars for - Show Me The Way -  book one in the Fight For Me series by A.L. Jackson. A brand new series by an author who never fails to impress me with both her brilliance and artistry in delivering a beautifully written story. Fans of her work will love this new series based is Gingham Lakes, Alabama - not only does it contain everything we love about her books, but the element of heartfelt emotion and angst is truly spectacular. You will not want to miss a second of this epic new series. Rynna Dayne fled Gingham Lakes years ago, but she came back after her beloved grandmother passed away. Giving up everything she had in San Francisco to head back to Alabama was not something she ever thought she would do but her grandmother's wishes had a way of making things change. Coming back and finding not only the house and diner run down and in dire need of upgrading, but tax liens on both properties too. Determined to make the best of the situation she soldiers on and while unpacking she runs into a neighbor across the street that absolutely captures her heart but her gorgeous father has a massive chip on his shoulder that prevents him from being civil let alone kind. Too bad he is such a jerk since she can't seem to keep her eyes off him... Rex Gunner is a single dad to the world's most adorable, loving and social little girl - Frankie Leigh. Where his daughter talks to and loves everyone she meets - Rex prefers to keep people at arms length and barely accepts help from his close friends and family. He has absolutely no need for a woman since all they do is cause more trouble than they are worth especially since the new neighbor that moved in across the street. After everything Rex (and Frankie by extension) went through it will be a cold day in hell before he ever trusts someone with his heart again, but there is just something about Rynna that tempts him to stray from that ironclad resolve he's had for years. It is no secret that I am a big fan of this author's writing, but this book is on a whole new level of emotion and angst. My own emotions were all over the place and I loved every single word. I never thought I would fall in love with one of Ms. Jackson's characters again so completely after the Bleeding Stars series ended, but these guys in Alabama certainly keep you wanting more! Can't wait to see what she writes for us next :)

Ryana and Rex stole the show in this debut novel to kick off the new 'Fight for Me' series. Never have I read an A.L. Jackson book that I have not adored and this was no exception. I'm clearly invested in this series right from the get-go and cannot wait for the next one! I endured so many emotions reading this book. There was a nice slow build with twists and turns that had me on the edge of my seat until the very end. Truly great read!!

If you associate A L Jackson with angsty, "will these two ever be happy" romances, you might be surprised to find that Show Me the Way, while it certainly has angst, also has humor, affection, and a huge heart. Oh, and searing sexy times. Jackson delivers those, too. Rex Gunner is a guy struggling to hang on. The problem is, the things he wants to hang onto are the things he needs to excise. He's hanging onto guilt and bitterness and a hard heart. He's a successful contractor, having rebuilt his company after a debacle nearly ruined it. More importantly, he is an utterly devoted father to his free-spirited four-year-old daughter, Frankie Leigh. All of that guilt, bitterness, and hardened heart, then, is directed at any woman he perceives as posing a threat to the stability he has fought to regain. When Rynna Dayne moves in across the street, she poses a very real, very potent threat. Returning after fleeing her hometown a decade earlier, Rynna, too, battles guilt, bitterness, and a hard heart, but she uses her deceased grandmother as the voice in her head, directing her to let go of those things and open herself to change and to taking chances. Rex wants Rynna, Rynna wants Rex, but none of this will go easily. Then there is Frankie Leigh. In many ways, she is the heart of this book. A girl not so much determined to heed her own beat as oblivious to why she shouldn't, Frankie serves as the source of unconditional warmth and love. Jackson nails Frankie's voice, making her zing off the page. Rynna and Rex are connected in several ways, one of which they don't realize, but you will, long before they figure it out. How will they adjust? How will they adapt? Rex needs to follow Rynna's path and let go of the bitterness and guilt that he clings to like a security blanket. Who will he be without it? Jackson spins a delectably hot romance, with a Hot Hero you will want to become reality, and a heroine you will want as a best friend. As this is the first in a series, there is one question unanswered in this book, although it absolutely can be read as a stand-alone. You will find yourself looking forward to the next one because you won't want to say goodbye to the people you meet in this book.

Poignant and touching, A.L. Jackson demonstrates just why her work is pure poetry. Rex and Rynna, oh my word. The blurb shows what the book is about, and I can't write any more to it, that is perfection. I can barely tell you how it made me feel reading this book, as I'm still a mess. These two make my heart ache, my face smile, and other places tingle. Show Me the Way captivates you from the start, and doesn't let you go. It's both heart-warming and makes you sit on the edge of your seat, complete opposites it may seem, but Ms. Jackson's writing is flawless. I love these two, and you won't regret reading this phenomenal book!!

Sometimes you are lucky enough to stumble upon a book that captures your attention and then grabs your heart and soul with each magnificent page you read. This book did that for me! I have to admit I was not sure what to expect after my favorite series of all time, The Bleeding Stars Series ended, but AL Jackson brought it and then-some with this treasure! It is the first one in her new Fight for Me Series, and let's just say it is EVERYTHING....captivating, suspenseful, romantic, gritty and raw. I am not sure who I fell in love with more, the broody, angsty, sexy as sin carpenter, single dad, Rex. The one-time misfit, geeky, and bullied, but back with beauty and so much more to knock them all on their asses, Rynna, or the adorable, sweet, and charismatic Frankie. But every character will take up residence in your heart as you read this amazing story, even the sub-characters like Grandma and Kale make this story perfection. This is hands down my most favorite book that Amy has produced so far, and being that I own every book on my Kindle and Audible and have read and listened to them all more than times than I can even remember, this is HUGE!!!! I wish that I could give it more than 5 shiny, glittery, gold stars!

I seriously loved this book. I was awake until after 2am finishing this book. Rex is a single dad to the cutest little Sweet Pea! And then his life is changed for the better when Rynna moves in across the street from them. I love Rynna. I love her with Frankie Leigh. I felt hers and Rex's connection from the start. I loved seeing their relationship progress to lovers. I was kind of expecting the plot twist, but I didn't expect to feel so anxious about it. The little suspense thrown in there really worked, especially when you could really sense her feelings and love for Rex and Frankie. I just adored this book, and it was one of my favorites this year. 5 stars!

Beautiful love story! Truly a couple that stands the tests and trials of pain, heartache and redemption. Rex and Rynna have both been hurt by love. Either one of them may have never been able to love again but together, they breach the past, live only in the present and prepare for a future together. The concept of loss, of her innocence, her trust, her self-worth, was cruelly taken from Rynna. Rex had guilt and mistrust, only believing in the love for his daughter and few friends. Only once Rynna forced him to face his demons, and he helped her overcome hers, were they able to find their HEA. Loved this story. AL Jackson always tugs at the heartstrings and gives us characters to love, albeit not perfect ones but honest ones. She continues to make me so enthralled that I just can’t wait for the next story.

This is one of those books that you need to read as soon as possible. I finished it at 1am this morning and the book hangover is totally worth it! It's full of so much emotion it really keeps you on your toes. Rynna has finally come home to fulfil her gramma's legacy and in doing so having to face up to the demons buried in her past. She had a pretty tough time growing up and through the cruelty of others she left the one place she felt safe. I thought she was incredibly smart and a lot tougher than she gave herself credit. She's got a massive heart and she's got so much love to give it was really beautiful the way she chipped away at Rex's walls. I wasn't quite so sure of Rex at the start, seemed a little too intense. He's had just as tough a time as Rynna, there was a lot more internal dialogue from him and a few times I was thinking I wish he'd just take a chance. He's was awesome when her finally started to open up. So strong and very dominant I suddenly found I didn't mind his intensity quite so much. Frankie Leigh stole the spotlight every time she was on the page. Super cute, she was really fun to read about. She's gonna be a handful when she grows up. The book is full of twists and turns, the side characters are interesting enough that I really hope we get a few more books set in this world. I definitely need to know more about Kale and Ollie. Would highly recommend this story and author, I have yet to read a story of hers that I haven't thoroughly enjoyed

The phenomenally talented A.L. Jackson once again delivers an emotionally charged page-turner that completely wrecked me! Her unique writing style and remarkable ability at story telling is above reproach. A flawless story filled with damaged and imperfect characters, Show Me the Way captivates readers with intensity, longing, anguish, and an unspoken motivation that defies all odds. I have not been able to think of anything else since I've finished this book. The story is raw. It's unwavering. And it's profoundly deep, exuding a bottomless well of emotions. Completely intoxicating, this book is beyond comparison, and absolutely one of the bests books I've ever read! Show Me the Way has set the bar to an astounding, insurmountable level in the Fight for Me series. If the upcoming books in this new series are anywhere close to how ridiculously stunning Show Me the Way is, then the series will for sure be an out-of-this-world experience readers will never forget. 5+++ Stars!

This was my favorite read by this author to date. I enjoyed the characters and the story very much. I figured out part of the secret fairly quickly and I read hungrily until it was revealed to the characters. I loved the supporting characters such as Kale, Jenny and Frankie Leigh they kept the story light and funny where it needed it. I look forward to more from this series!

Wow! Just wow! You ever read a story that you don't want to end? This would be it for me. I fell in love with Rex, Rynna and Frankie. I was instantly pulled in to this book and had a hard time putting it down. I loved the feel of a small town setting. Rynna leaves Gingham Lakes to escape from her past. She ends up moving back years later and lives across from Rex. While Rex seems like a jerk, you can't help but fall for him. He hasn't had an easy life but he is getting by. Frankie is just beyond adorable and really made me love Rex more!! Show Me the Way is a must read and definitely a favorite of mine!! I can't wait to read the other books in the series!!

One word comes to mind with this book AMAZING. You can never outrun your past. You can choose to always run or face it and move on. Both Rex and Rynna have had things they want to forget happen to them in the past. Rex cannot move forward and Rynna chose to run away and never look back. But now Rynna is back stronger than when she left. Rex's whole life is now Frankie Leigh. He doesn't allow anyone to come before her; until he meets Rynna. For some reason she is able to penetrate those walls he has built up. It's not easy for him to let Rynna in but she doesn't give up. And how could you not love Frankie Leigh. The girl is absolutely adorable. I love the way A L Jackson makes Frankie such an important part of this story. From her little pink tutu the girl will melt your heart. These three were made to be a family. But in life if we don't deal with the past there is always a chance it could come back to haunt us. But it's how we deal with it that makes us who we are. This story has some twists that will have you shaking your head but because of the amazing author that A L Jackson is it will have you glued to every page and excited to how it all works out. Show Me The Way is truly a phenomenal read you do not want to miss. From the first page to the last you will be hooked. A definite 5+ star read.

“She was the kind of woman who could make a grown man stumble on his feet. Stunning. Gorgeous. Too sexy for her own da**ed good. Or maybe mine” “All moments matter. We just rarely know how important they are until the chance to act on them has already passed.” “In my experience, joy is a choice. Life is rough. Don’t expect it not to be. But if aren’t laughin’, we’re crying. Choose to laugh. Choose what brings you joy. And when you choose you path, it may not always be the easiest one, but it’ll always be the right one.” Show Me the Way is breathtaking and all consuming. It is the kind of story that you will just want to get lost in; live in. You will want to breathe in all the words, let them be buried deep into your soul until your mind is consumed with nothing else but these words and this book. You will find it impossible to put this down and if you’re like me, wild horses won’t be able to take you away… Told from dual points of view, Show Me the Way is the first book in an all new series from author AL Jackson. From the moment I first encountered Rynna, I was sucked into her story. I was desperate for more information and could not wait to see how her story was going to play out. In no way was I prepared for the journey I was about to experience. It’s books like this that remind me why I love AL Jackson’s writing so much. It’s not just words written on a page, but is a story that embeds itself into your soul. From lyrical writing to a breathtaking story-line to broken characters, Show Me the Way is a story that will grip onto your heart and will hold on to it with everything it has. Show Me the Way is powerful, emotional. A story of the truest love. A story of pain and heartache. Of betrayal and devastation. A story of taking chances, letting go of the past and fighting for the love that you deserve. Show Me the Way is so much more than I ever saw coming. There are so many moments, passages and quotes that I’ve highlighted; I don’t want to forget a single thing. This story touched my heart in ways that I can’t possibly put into words. AL Jackson’s writing has once again slayed my heart, taking me on another unexpected journey. The writing captivating me, making me feel as though I am a part of the story and pulling such strong emotions from me. This series is off to an unforgettable start and can not wait to see what this author has in store for my heart next.
