About the Author

Mortimer O. Heath (1853-1891) was born in Dorset, England. In 1872 he sailed to the United States and settled in Littleton, N.C. By 1885 Heath had moved on to Pennsylvania where he married Susan Jones. He died from tuberculosis in 1891.
