Overview

Until now, Prince Richard Valeon has lived a pampered life. He lives in a wondrous castle, surrounded by his parents and servants, but tries to embody the legacy set by his grandfather, King Henry - who forged a 50-year alliance with their enemies, the Dragons of Dragon's Claw.

But then Richard turns 16 and he is faced with endless training for the mandatory Elderking Trials - which will determine if he not only lives up to his grandfather's legacy but is worthy of being the future ruler of Sky Castle. This assessment of skill and leadership is not for the faint of heart, and yet none of the royals of Sky Castle have ever failed this epic test....until now.

Being stripped of his title and banished to Outcast Outlook, he escapes and embarks on a journey to seek redemption and reclaim his birthright. Along his perilous trek, he befriends a member of a forgotten race, comes face-to-face with a mystical [and maniacal?] usurped Queen, and at destination end finds himself embroiled in a dragon war.
