He is the author of Smart Card Security and Applications (Artech House 1997) and Practical Computer Network Security (Artech House 1995). Hendry, an independent consultant in payment systems for electronic commerce, would undoubtedly concur that despite no next- generation innovation yet, the smart card or the computer on a card, has gone mainstream and is no longer mainly a European phenomenon.
