Jason Snowblood and Benny Coyne, cousins of Ottawa-Irish descent from a small, northern Michigan town, are assigned to the US Army's scout dog program in Vietnam. They develop a friendship with a gallant but shady helicopter pilot and unbreakable bonds with their heroic dogs.

Coyne's special native powers erupt with brutal real and spirit world violence when his dog is captured by the enemy and Army investigators are baffled by the circumstances of his horrific revenge. Jason struggles through TET and against the growing, consuming fear that he will soon have to leave his dog behind when his tour in Vietnam concludes.

About the Author

Bob Linsenman worked in the book publishing industry in Manhattan as an editor and executive editor in the college division of Holt, Rinehart & Winston; in computer software from 1973 to 1983 in Minneapolis; and as a non-fiction literary agent.

After returning home to Michigan in 1991, he has managed a fly shop and worked as a fly fishing guide and freelance writer.

Publications include feature articles in national magazines including Fly Fisherman, American Angler, Wild Steelhead & Salmon, Fly Fishing and Tying Journal, Fly Fisher, Midwest Fly Fishing, and Eastern Fly Fishing. Published book titles include Michigan Trout Streams: A Fly Angler's Guide (second edition), Countryman Press (W.W.Norton); Great Lakes Steelhead: A Guided Tour for Fly Anglers (both with Steve Nevala), Countryman Press; Modern Streamers for Trophy Trout (with Kelly Galloup); Michigan Blue Ribbon Fly Fishing Guide, The Au Sable River; and Best Streams for Great Lakes Steelhead.

Bob lives with his dogs near the Au Sable River in northern Michigan.
