About the Author

Jan Rydberg is Professor Emeritus of Nuclear Chemistry at the Chalmers University of Technology, Goteborg, Sweden. He has published several technical books and over 150 scientific papers, and he holds eight patents. A Fellow of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences and the Royal Society of Arts and Sciences in Goteborg, he received the D.Sc. degree in chemistry from the University of Stockholm, Sweden.

Michael Cox is Professor and Senior Research Fellow in Applied Chemistry at the University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. The author or coauthor of over 70 papers, Dr. Cox serves as an editor for the Journal of Chemical Technology and Biotechnology- Awarded the Society of Chemical Industry Lampitt Medal and the Kumakov Memorial Medal of the Russian Academy of Sciences, he received the Ph.D. degree from University College London.

Claude Musikas is a former Research Director at the Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique, Paris, France. He is currently a scientific advisor in chemistry and separation chemistry for several institutions. The author of more than 130 papers in international journals, he also holds 15 patents. Dr. Musikas received the Docteur es Sciences degree in chemistry from the University of Paris XI, Orsay, France.

Gregory R. Choppin is the Emeritus Robert O. Lawton Distinguished Professor of Chemistry at Florida State University, Tallahassee. With over 400 publications to his name, his awards include the American Chemical Society Award for Nuclear Chemistry and the British Royal Society Becquerel Medal. Dr. Choppin received the Ph.D. degree from The University of Texas at Austin.
