Jenna is annoying and immature. The story has a lot of borrowed ideas.

If you like unbelievable, fantasy love affairs, this might be for you. I thought the writing style lacked interest and originality (how much "eye flashing" can you put in one novel?). Pulp romance...should have known better.

I was given this book from the author for an honest review and from the very start was told that it was an adult book. As I started to read the book I immediately started to like it.  The story is about Jenna, a young girl recently out of collage her life was simple and plain, and she liked it that way. Every part of her life was going at a smooth pace; her friends, her job and even the guy she is dating.  One night having dinner with her best friend she spotted this gorgeous sexy looking man (Maxwell Knight) whom she never thought he would even give her the time of day, but he made her feel things she never felt before. Everything about him said trouble, but she couldn't help the strong connection she felt towards him. Thinking she would never see him again, she brushed it off as nothing, until she started running into him at the least unexpected places. This story is romantic, seductive and sexy with class. As I read I found myself falling in love with Max, he is just the ideal guy, has it all and a very good lover may I add. It was a page turner for me. I read it 3 times and each time I loved it even more. I love all the characters in the book as well. An adult book with class! Looking forward to book 2! I give Something Great 5 stars.

Jenna is way to immature I found myself rolling my eyes every few pages , this book suits prepubescent girls or ppl who are braindead

Too cheesy

I'm honestly surprised by the super high reviews. The book was ok, but it was not great. And the dialogue was terrible. I'm sorry, but no alpha male talks like that.

It was just ok. Redundant & juvenile at times!

The title is the only Great thing about this book. Poorly written, Inconsistant characters, unoriginal. Dates, a day were mixed up, scenes not consistent. Don't waste your money or time.

Writing style felt juvenile, dialogue and description were anything but mature...making the sex scenes feel awkward? Tone down the sex and you have a good book for curious and romantic young teens. And since I am not young teen, this did not capture me at all.

I got this as a free read but decied to give it a chance because of so many good reviews. The writing was stiff, almost formal. Jenna was a bit annoying in the beginning. I know she was hurt in a previous relationship but come on. Why would she continue feeling any loyalty to Luke when she really didn't have a relstionship with him. Max's dialog was not really believable. I'm all for a male who can be romantic but this was too girlie and not enough alpha male to go with the emotions.

Something Great is a phenomenally beautiful and emotionally stirring journey of discovering and then choosing to claim the one who turns your world upside down and cherishes you like no one else. This story was such a blessing to me in a few different ways. I was shown what real friendship truly is and how wonderful it can be when it is genuine. This story showers you with a captivatingly passionate romance that soothes the soul and fills every part of your heart with such a deep level of fulfillment and joy that you will ache when the story comes to a close. The importance placed on family throughout this story is so good to see and it really is the cord that binds them all together. If not for our friends and family, where would any of us be? Watching the progression of Max and Jenna’s relationship throughout this brilliant story was such an incredible gift, and I enjoyed every second of it. I loved watching how relentless Max was in winning Jenna’s heart and her trust. He knew how special she was, and he was not afraid to show her as often as he could how much he treasured, loved, and wanted her. Jenna tried to play things cool and brush off his attention and gentleness towards her, but in the end, I was so happy when she finally decided to take a chance on them. She found out just how much she would have lost out on if she would have pushed him away for good. Only then was Jenna able to see the immensity and depth of Max’s heart and soul which was already binding itself to her in ways that she never acknowledged until then. He was in this with her for keeps, and she realized that she was the luckiest girl on the planet. While I have a small circle of friends in my life, I have never experienced the level of friendship that Jenna had with her friends. The level of openness and intimacy that they all easily shared pulled at my heart more than a few times. I loved how they were able to share simply everything, so that there were no feelings of isolation or boundaries among them. I wonder at times what that level of depth would feel like, but I enjoyed watching it unfold especially between Jenna and her roommate Becky. Becky was such a beautiful friend who knew how special Jenna was, and she made every effort to show her just how much her friendship was treasured. To watch the closeness and love that was evident among Max, his brother, and his parents was amazing and stirring. There was no fear of showing too much emotion in order to keep protective walls up to hide behind. Instead they made sure to appreciate and love each other for who they were. They loved each other through the good and the bad times, and they gave space and support when it was needed. The family dynamic was warm and inviting, and Jenna felt like she was already loved and accepted without question or requirement at their first meeting. I believe that was something that helped her feel at ease with her decision to stay with Max. With the support and love from our family, it is amazing what all we can accomplish. Mary Ting has left me happily speechless with this marvelous wonder that is her latest novel. She has clearly taken her work to another level from her book From Gods which I absolutely adored. I was blown away by the superb romance, and I felt every emotion between the two so vividly that I felt lost when their story ended. I am so excited to read the next part of Max and Jenna’s story. I can only imagine what new surprises Mary will give us, and I am becoming such a huge fan of her writing that is so full of heart and passion. I could read her stories forever and never get tired of them!

I was hooked from the moment I started reading this book. This is Mary Ting’s first venture into this genre writing under the name of M. Arthur. She has already made her mark with her Crossroads Saga. (needs to be a movie)  It was well worth the wait! One of the main characters in the book is a recent college graduate by the name of Jenna. Looking for her dream job and just settling for her current relationship which is safe.  She is easy to relate to as with most women we tend to not believe we can have it all.  We decide it’s easier to settle and not look for our “Something Great”.  Thankfully with the help and prodding of her really good friends, she takes a chance. Enter Maxwell Knight who is absolutely swoon worthy and does his best to win her over. From the time their eyes meet you could just feel the fireworks leaping from the pages.  I felt myself become totally immersed in the characters.  You could actually feel the heat! I love the fact that this is a story not only of love between a man and a woman but also the love between really good friends who care about each other’s well being. It was wonderful seeing Jenna emerge from a chrysalis to a butterfly. This book will have you yearning for that type of hotness and also the craving for heart shaped Rice Krispies Treats! This book is not to be missed and I hope there are more to come.  Well done!

I was gifted a copy from the author for an honest review. "I'm your prescription. Let me be your new addiction". I LOVED that!! The pull between the main characters is fantastic. How they are able to hold off is beyond me. Jenna knows what she wants and it could very well be Max but she is at a crossroads when it comes to him being her boss's son and she's not sure she really wants to go there. BUT, is the pull he has on her too intense that she isn't able to say no to him. This is a first in romance for this author Ms. Clarke and very well written. I hope to see more from her.

Something Great is a Sweet Simmering Romance that blossoms into Steaming Hot Long Lasting LOVE! They both have been hurt before and are guarding their hearts. Luckily, he sees something in her she can't see herself. Will she take a chance and put her heart out there again? Can he help her trust what her heart is whispering to her? That she is, as he puts it, "Something Great"! Something Great = Something Amazing!!

Let me first start off with thanking M. Clarke (aka Mary Ting) for looking me up to review her book before its release. I am really into the whole NA genre and was looking forward to reading her work for the first time. Yes, I know. I hear I am missing out on her CROSSROADS series from what I am hearing. Maybe one day soon I will get through my pile of reviews and read it. *sigh* Now on with the show. While I loved the storyline and the characters (will get to those in a bit) I think it was Ting's writing that kind of threw me off a little. Not that it was bad, it just different and came off a little choppy to me at first until I got used to it. But it was nice to know I am not the only one who likes to wear the crap out of '...' ! I love using '...' and I love reading books with those in them. One other tiny quirk I had was the name use of certain body parts. I felt like I was back in 9th grade Health class and not reading a romance novel. I don't know...could just be me...but it sort of ruined the scenes where they were mentioned. Earlier I noted I loved the storyline. Yes...yes I did. And I loved the chemistry between Max and Jenna even more. So when you add those two together you get one amazing amazing read I couldn't put down. I flew through it and look forward to more NA reads by Ting. In fact, with the way the story was going I am hoping for a story about Becky and Matthew next. And hopefully, maybe someday, we will get to the rest of Jenna's friends. Even though one is married and another engaged, I think it would be fun to hear their stories as well. Love the whole NA craze that is taking over the literary world? Then this read will definitely be one to add to your TBR list.

I didn't like how clumsy and idiotic the main character was. How do you "unintentionally" open a taxi door almost getting yourself thrown out? She is constantly tripping, falling and is just clumsy. She is allergic to alcohol but drinks it anyway at a function that could cause problems for the company she is representing. The main character's relationship progresses very quickly

Very hot!! Max and Jenna have a great storyline. Very believable , hate when the girl automatically jumps into bed with the guy just because she's attracted to him. Not everyone does! Nice job ....

Typical romance, sweet & light hearted. 1st book in series. Grammar and spelling are good but there are some minor editing issues throughout.

Something Great by M. Clarke is a good read. It is part one in a series, but has a terrific HEA so can easily stand alone. The love story is compelling, a little fast at first, so the twisty is to be expected. Just really well done.
