Overview

Learning to laugh at death allows aging children to play again as night reneges on its promise of more mornings. Oh how precious the games become. The remaining pauses between breaths remind those not fearing unexplored regions of space to admit one leaves as he or she arrives- as one: first swaddled; then shrouded in sole embrace.

About the Author

York Van Nixon III is a native of Washington, D.C. When not writing or consulting, he spends his time promoting the arts through Arts In Motion (A.I.M.), a Silver Spring, Maryland club dedicated to providing venues and endowments to individuals and groups across the spectrum of creative endeavor.
Although he holds formal degrees in Psychology and Dance, the unique personalities he still encounters around the world continue to shape his understanding of the dot he occupies in space. A day without learning is a waste of what little time we are granted.
Alternative Acts follows his first book Missing Steps, which is a smoky mirror of the author's first fifty years. His second book introduces Gideon Maxwell, the protagonist whose love and revenge threaten to destroy him and those who dare to breathe the same air when he hunts another demon mirroring the cause of his pain..
"When it comes to writing, I strive to impregnate words with passion and endless possibilities to allow the reader to create worlds within the soil under their fingernails."
