David Anthony Martin is a native of the Salish Sea and grew up in the temperate forests and raincoast of the Puget Sound area of the Olympic Peninsula. He was raised in a mushroom hunting camping, hiking and backpacking family. he is an avid and lifelong outdoorsman. He's a nature-loving visionary who dreams in trees. He is a published author, poet, blogger and artist. Although he has traveled quite a bit in the United States and abroad, he has made Colorado his home since 1995.
He currently resides in the beautiful Ponderosa Pine forests of the Wet Mountain foothills of Colorado where he served as a Ranger and Environmental Educator for the Mountain Park Environmental Center in Beulah, Colorado.
He loves to hike and explore wilderness areas. He desires to become a better archer and to one day learn how to sail. In his dreams he can fly and speaks to animals. If you were to pick his pockets there's a good chance you'd find an acorn or an old green marble, maybe a stone which only shows its colors when wetted, a jewelers loop to examine moss-flowers, a pocket-knife, receipts and scraps of paper scribbled with lines of found poetry... poetry he has picked from the pockets of his heart to share with the world.
His publishing credits include poems published in the books Peaceful Poetry to Love Your Societal Consciousness (Ann McCall 2001) and Baby Blessings (Harmony Books, 2002) as well as in Poetry Motel, Junction, Mountain Alchemy and articles in the Pueblo P.U.L.P. and the Mountain Park News and two collections of poetry, Span and deepening the map
More about him and his works and upcoming projects can be found at either his website or the Facebook page, both of which are titled An Illuminated Path of Heart.
