When Princess Cassia Rose fled her home world of Eturia to escape an arranged marriage, she had no idea her sudden departure would spark a war. Now after two years hiding as a ship hand, she is finally returning to her beloved home but not in the way she imagined. Shackled by bounty hunters, she is violently dragged back to account for her crimes. Her only solace is that the Banshee crew managed to evade capture, including Kane Arric, her best friend...with occasional benefits.

Meanwhile, Kane and the rest of the crew of the Banshee plan a desperate rescue mission. But when they arrive on Eturia, Cassia isn't exactly in need of heroics—she's claimed her birthright as Eturia's queen, but has inherited a war-torn planet simmering with rebellion. Cassia must make alliances, and Kane, the bastard son of a merchant, isn't a choice that will earn her any friends. Kane knows he will never find someone to replace Cassia—and is certain she returns his feelings—but how can he throw away his own promising future waiting on a queen?

When the outer realm is threatened by the dangerous Zhang mafia, Cassia, Kane and the rest of the Banshee crew uncover a horrifying conspiracy that endangers the entire universe. In the face of unspeakable evil, Cassia must confront her own family's complicated legacy on Eturia and decide once and for all who her real family is.

I really really loved this book! After I read the first one I really wanted more of Solara and Doran, I wasn't too keen on them not being the main characters of this next book. However, once I read this book I fell in love with Cassia and Kane (not that I didn't love them already). It was so exciting to see this inner look at their lives and see how everything plays out in the future along with learning a lot of new information about their past. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves outer space and not to mention romance! This book exceeded all of my expectations (my expectations were set really high after the first book). I enjoyed it from beginning to end and could not put it down.

Starfall is the second book in a series. I loved Starflight, so I was eager to read this book when it released a couple of months ago. Unlike the first book, Starfall isn’t focused on Solara and Doran. It picks up the story of Cassia and Kane, who were both minor characters in the first book. Cassia, a princess who’s been on the run with her best friend, is kidnapped and taken back to her home world of Eturia. Kane of course wants to go and rescue her. This book was fairly predictable. And while I loved Cassia and Kane’s banter in the first book, since they’re hardly together in this book, I just didn’t feel as attached to them. Solara and Doran and the captain are in this book as well, and a new character is introduced, but overall I kind of had to force myself to finish this book. I was so disappointed. The first book had such great squad goals, but this book didn’t have the same vibe. I was kind of in a reading slump when I read this book though, so I may have been that too.

3/5 Stars Returning to the thrilling escapades of the Banshee and her crew, had me ever so excited for Starfall. Cassia is made to face everything she ran away from as well as where she stands with Kane when dragged back to her home world of Eturia. These two protagonists were an absolute favorite in the first book and I was so very happy for them to get their own story now. Both Cassia and Kane were forced to deal with some truly difficult moments and their friendship was definitely put to the test. Warring with their feelings, making decisions that could impact entire worlds. They made their fair share of mistakes but still persevered. I really missed the on ship dynamic between the crew members though. There were a few moments with Renny, Solara, and Doran that truly shined but Cassia and Kane's story was much more solitary. The threats fueling this story seemed to come from all sides and there was one problem after another for Cassia, Kane, and co. Chief among them being Eturia's war ravaged land, plotting rulers, and an uprising among her people. Plus it's hard to know who to trust after being away for two years. There's also a larger galaxy wide plot courtesy of the mafia. To be honest though it felt a bit overreaching to cram so many issues into this one plot. Overall I did enjoy Starfall by Melissa Landers but thought it was missing the inspiration and crew dynamics that stood out in Starflight. Cassia and Kane were still wonderful characters and I loved reading about their back and forth dilemmas. While the plot could have been more cohesive I did find the threats terrifying. Definitely pick this up if you loved Starflight!

This duology is honestly one of the best series I have ever read and the entire Banshee crew's journey has been my absolute favorite thing to read. I love that we got to get into Cassia and Kane's heads in this sequel, because they're honestly such amazing, unique, and strong characters! I love them both so much and my heart goes out to them both for everything they've endured and how they've come out stronger for it all. I loved this sequel as much as I did the first one and both books hold a special place in my heart

Starfall was an amazing book it was a roller coaster ride the entire read. There are moments where I was screaming at my book, there are moments when I cried there are moments when I just burst out laughing. At one point I had to walk away.... but I came right back! I thought they wouldn't make it (no spoilers) but I'm glad it turned out the way it did. Team #Kanesia forever!!! It was a real relationship with real issues that I can relate to. It's surprising how I found clarity in my own life's issues through this book. So thank you @melissalanders it looks great on my bookshelf next to Starflight!
