About the Author

ABDUL RAHMAN EMBONG is Professor in Sociology of Development at the Institute of Malaysian and International Studies, University Kebangsaan, Malaysia. He is President of the Malaysian Social Science Association and Editor-in-Chief of Akademika, UKM's journal of the social sciences and humanities. He is an author/editor of several books (in Malay) and has also translated several books from English into Malay.
