Elizabeth Heavey completed her Bachelor's Degree in Economics while simultaneously completing her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.'She earned the College of Nursing award and completed both degrees Summa Cum Laude.'' She also continued her education during this time and completed her Ph.D. in Epidemiology, with high honors, at the University of Buffalo.'' She accepted a position as an assistant professor of nursing at the State University of New York College at Brockport in 2004 and began teaching community health nursing and statistics for nurses.'In 2008, she completed a post-doc fellowship in adolescent medicine at the University of Rochester.
