Hill (William Morris in Appliqué) uses both embroidery and machine appliqué in this series of projects inspired by the work of English author and illustrator Beatrix Potter. Potter's whimsical children's stories featuring Peter Rabbit are classics, and her animal illustrations feature prominently in several of the projects, including a machine-appliquéd baby quilt and a felt baby ball. Quilters looking for grown-up projects sans cute animals will find several, including a machine appliqué-based reproduction of a mid-19th-century wedding quilt that belonged to Potter's parents. Appliqué templates and traceable embroidery patterns are included on pullout pages.
