Kris Benny is the author of Dolly's Birthday in Rainbow Colors, Freester's First Easter, Summer Break With Vicky and Tweedle and Caterpillars Can Love.

She believes that various elements of nature, such as the sun, moon, clouds, sky, trees, rivers, and so on, are various expressions to beauty, but rainbows are a different dimension! They are marvelous! So, there was no better topic with which she could have started her writing journey than rainbows, she says. The fact that light, that is always around us, is composed of 7 lovely colors, to her, is proof that magic is real. Rainbow is a portal through which little ones could enter the world of color, of magic, of reality, of colorfully-magical reality!

As a Mom of two little boys, she understands that the best way to teach is to package learning into something joyful and playful like a story, a poem, a painting or a song. And she chose the medium that comes naturally to her - story-telling!

She loves reading and writing. She was born in a beautiful city in the southern part of India and grew up hearing stories and poetry from her father and melodious songs from her mother. She loves both her sisters dearly. She currently lives in Henderson, Nevada with her beloved husband and two wonderful boys.

Freester's First Easter is her second book which has enticing rhymes, beautiful illustrations and an endearing story about a bunny and his friends. Is her love for bunnies evident yet?

She took her time with each character and tried her best to make it an enjoyable experience for her little readers. Freester the bunny, Chub the chick, Lily the butterfly, Drake the duckling and Chew the mouse are all special to her. Each one faces a challenge that is commonly faced by little kids. Just like Freester, if each one could help their friends and themselves in removing self-doubt and being kind and compassionate to everyone around, then the world would stay beautiful always!

When both her boys proof-read her book and gave her their smiles of approval, she knew the book was finally ready!
