This compilation of tracks by the late blues guitarist and jazz trumpeter Jeff Healey is essentially a stripped down version of the European 16-track collection, The Very Best of Jeff Healey, and the 12-cut domestic U.S. Platinum & Gold Collection. Coming as it does just before Christmas in 2008 makes it seem like a label afterthought, especially since Arbor Ltd. issued the excellent triple-disc (two CDs and one DVD) set entitled Legacy, Vol. 1. About the best thing that can be said about this collection is that it does contain a solid lineup of ten well-known tracks, and that its price is attractive. That said, the two single-disc comps mentioned above go deeper for very little extra scratch. ~ Thom Jurek
