About the Author

Allow me to give you an analogy. Many regard Bruce Lee as the greatest martial artist that ever lived. But, I've always believed that there would have been someone who could have come down from the mountains of China and could have "handily defeated him." I still believe that he was no match for the skills of ancient martial artists passed down from masters for well over a thousand years. Bruce Lee enjoyed publicity and popularity, while the masters in China lived in seclusion and anonymity. And because these "mountain masters" were never popular, did it mean they were never any good at what they did? I don't think so. And in table tennis, I am that mountain man. When you read my book, you will understand. But, who am I and what have I done in table tennis? Who I am is not as important as what I have accomplished in table tennis almost 3 decades ago when table tennis was a much tougher game to play. The ball was smaller and faster, the games were to 21 points and up to 5 games a match, and the rules allowed experts to have crazy combination paddles with the same color rubber sheets on both sides of the blade! But, they all did not matter to me. My MASTERY of this style made dominating table tennis fun and easy for me. My style is based on science and art... physics, bio-mechanics, mathematics, lines of force, and graceful movements. Would my style work in today's "modern" game? Of course, it would work. Even though I stopped playing seriously at the end of 1981, the science and physics that I used for the game then is the same science and physics that can be applied today! The diameter of the ball may be bigger now, but the physics of hitting it remain the same. Win more matches with the skills you already have... just add my unique tips and strategies!
