The latest volume in the series that originated in 1969 consists of three contributions on diverse topics within surface and colloid science. The opening chapter reports on the physical chemistry of cetyl alcohol, particularly with respect to the function of liquid crystals in O/W creams. Next, ionization processes and proton binding in polyprotic systems are explored in small molecules, proteins, interfaces, and polyelectrolytes.
