Teachings on God
This book argues that the true seat of human freedom and moral authority is an objective soul energized by a Nietzschean will-to-power rooted in divine purpose. Drawing on Kantian ethics and Christian theology, it holds that universal moral law springs from the soul, not merely from subjective inclinations, and that prayerful faith triumphs over political conflict.
It outlines a fourfold model of the Self-soul, spirit, mind, body-organized hierarchically, and describes a cosmic order from minerals through angels to the Godhead. Practical virtues like hope, humility, and respect are presented as essential for personal growth and social harmony, while an excessive proliferation of laws and political rhetoric are critiqued as undermining true duty and justice.

About the Author

Joseph F. Conte has held a variety of jobs, the most interesting being the editor of a thoroughbred racing magazine in New York City, and tour guide at a 1,000-year-old castle complex in the harbor of Bergen, Norway. He grew up on Long Island, NY and had since traveled elsewhere in the world as much as possible. He was educated at the New School for Social Research in New York City and the University of Maryland’s overseas campus at Frankfurt, Germany while serving in the Armed Forces. He concluded his studies at the University of Bergen, Norway and later taught Oxford’s Proficiency in English course at the city’s Free University. He writes on classical music, art, literature and philosophy, and his writing has won a few minor awards. His approach to style is, as E.B. White would have it, by way of “plainness, simplicity, orderliness and sincerity,” these not as ends in themselves, but for achieving the highest ranges of craftsmanship, distinctness of pattern, adornment and palatability – all blended in the unmistakable signature of a rich stylistic mastery of tone so greatly appreciated by the wisest connoisseurs of any art, literary or otherwise.
