About the Author

Brett Hermance and Yi Liang are a husband and wife writing team whose first book, The Adopted Cookie Bear
was based on Brett's love of sweets and his own story. Brett was raised by his loving paternal grandparents,
with the help of his father, since he was 6 months old. Upon realizing as a child that his grandparents weren't
his biological parents, Brett had a longing to find his birth mother. In adulthood, Brett set out to find his mother
only to realize along the way that he had what he was looking for all along- a family who loved and accepted
him for exactly who he was.
