The Anuket
Book II continues the fantasy adventures of a sailing ship that has traversed the seven seas for millennia. At her prow sits a carved figure of a mermaid known as The Maid to her crew and landlubbers. She has been cast aside for many years until an embittered woman responds to an article where she is found lying forlorn in a mysterious cove in Falmouth, Cornwall. She sets sail from England across the Atlantic Ocean under a new captain who renames her after an Egyptian goddess of the Nile. The Maid is fully aware of the secrets of the crew that includes young orphans: some are enthralled by the book of a previous captain hoping to find a new Eldorado while others are motivated by the lure of the unknown and idealism.

After a violent storm, the shipwrecked survivors are washed ashore in an unknown landmass where they become embroiled in the dark and sinister world of Queen Luna's kingdom. The Maid must use all her powers both gentle and merciless to save the crew as the queen's officials are determined the foreigners will never leave to tell the world of their land and culture.
