About the Author

Nick de Rothschild is a scion of the famous banking dynasty but never actually became a banker. He was a pioneer of the video industry before moving out of London to look after the family's estate at Exbury in the beautiful New Forest, Hampshire. There, de Rothschild's grandfather created the world-famous Exbury Gardens, about which the author makes the occasional film. He likes to think of himself as "The Man Who Lives in Paradise."

De Rothschild has degrees in archaeology, anthropology, and art history from Cambridge University. He collects South African flowering bulbs and is fascinated by all things.
