About the Author

Jim Shoenbill grew up in a small house surrounded by books, TV, newspapers, magazines, red shag carpet, Safari Cards of Knowledge, and sarcastic older siblings. Through high school and college Jim studied art, but was lured away by the siren song of computer science, in which he's had a long career. Magic Coffee Hair was born in 2012 when Jim drew a cartoon while on standby in the Cleveland Airport, making himself laugh, and worrying other travelers. Since then, with the support of his wonderfully patient family, Jim has created hundreds of Magic Coffee Hair cartoons. Their clever, subtle, intellectual, strange humor has won over thousands of online fans, with one reviewer noting, "Wow, this guy can actually write jokes". Jim is a regular contributor to Funny Times magazine and has sold and licensed cartoons in many other avenues. Jim unfairly blames the title "Magic Coffee Hair" on his kids.
