About the Author

Gena Gendusa LaSalle was born and raised in South Louisiana. She has followed in her parents' footsteps working as an insurance agent alongside her brother and sister at their family owned insurance agency. Working with family is great and this job has allowed her to spend more time doing the things she loves outside of work; such as spending time with her husband and daughter, tending to her farm animals and diving deeper into her love of books. If she's not reading a book, she's working on writing one. While writing a book never crossed her mind until recently, once the idea popped into her head she wasn't letting it go.

Maria Ahafonova is a talented illustrator and artist, originally from Dnipro, Ukraine who is now living in Switzerland. From an early age she has been passionate about drawing and especially enjoys creating portraits and illustrations. Maria has an architectural background, which enriches her artistic eye and approach to composition. Children's book illustrations have become a breathing space in her creative life, where she enjoys conveying her ideas and images to inspire young readers. She has also worked with children throughout her life as a teacher, which allows her to gain a deeper understanding of their world. Maria believes that art should be accessible and magical, and strives to create work that helps children dream and fantasize.
