About the Author

Doug Radke's professional career has had two major focal points. He served over fifteen years in Christian ministry as a pastor. Following a graduate program in Communication he shifted to the education arena, teaching Speech and related courses at the community college level. Both pathways have intensified his fascination with and passion for history, transformative relationships, the power of storytelling and the challenges of social justice; themes that are woven together in his novel.

Retirement has provided the time and opportunity to put fingers to the keyboard and unite together figments of imagination, events of the American Revolution and a curiosity for numismatics with the compelling story of his ancestor, Stephen Brooks (1764-1855).
