Overview

Two things you need for a successful journey are a map and a compass. You need a map to show you your final destination and a compass to plot a new course once you have lost your way.

In this book the author shows you how he built his spiritual compass from the word of God and why he chose these particular verses. These verses not only give him direction, but also the reassurance that God wants to be part of that journey.

The last chapter gives you the chance to build your compass using the passages and experiences you value most in life. By creating your compass you will see exactly what keeps you on course and find your way home.

About the Author

When Voyagers Bible Church put out a request for Sunday school teachers 15 years ago Michael wondered if he had the skills to teach children the word of God. He had been coaching his sons' soccer and baseball teams forever and thought - since coaching and teaching use the same principles, why not.

Not only did he have to learn the word of God in order to teach it, but he also learned that God wants us to apply his word to our lives. The lessons are not only about teaching the word of God, but also about teaching the practical application of them.

This is his second book which takes the word of God and shows you how much God wants you to enjoy a happy and prosperous life. It is not just about reading his word and knowing it, but also about applying it to your daily life so you can enjoy all the blessings God has waiting for you.

Michael's parents moved to California in 1966 when he was 14 years old. He has resided in Southern California ever since, other than for a brief period when he worked in Saudi Arabia. He received his Bachelor's degree in Accounting from San Diego State University and his first job was working as a cost accountant for Hughes Aircraft Company in El Segundo, CA. Presently he and his wife own a small business.

Michael is married, has three sons and for the past 28 years has lived in Irvine, CA. His hobbies were coaching his sons' soccer and little league teams, but now that they have grown up they include cycling and "light" weight lifting.
