The Crew of the Barque Lone Star: Facts, Lore, and Legend:
The Crew of the Barque Lone Star was founded as a scion society of the Baker Street Irregulars in April 1970. Through the years, the Society has been home for many authors of fiction, Sherlockian criticism, and other non-fiction pieces of work. As part of our 50-year celebration, the Crew assembled documents from our half-century of activities as a tribute to the founders who met at The Farmers Daughter's restaurant on November 6, 1970. This small, dedicated group of Sherlockians chose to gather and celebrate a mutual interest in the great detective and planted a seed that would continue to thrive. The enthusiastic gathering from that first meeting has grown into a vibrant, virtual crowd that spans oceans and time zones. What has not changed is the interest and respect for the Game and its creator.
