About the Author

For nearly thirty years, Bobbie Short has tracked and chronicled newspaper articles and stories, and investigated first-hand reports of sightings and near-sightings of the elusive Sasquatch. Sparked by a 1985 close-up encounter of her own, she has been driven to find out what they are and why they behave the way they do. In this effort, she combines hands-on acquired knowledge with reports both from her 18-year-old website, Bigfootencounters.com, and nine old computers worth of reports never before published. Mixing the old with the new, she pares away the extraneous information to reveal only that pertaining to Sasquatch conduct and behavioral patterns. DNA may reveal the Sasquatch genome, but it won’t tell us how they live, their rules for life, culture and health, or how they manage to survive winters in Yukon, Northwest Territories, or Alaska.

In The de Facto Sasquatch, the author documents a list of reported Sasquatch behaviors and their associations with Military Base Installations, Native American and First Nation Reservations in the United States and Canada, taking a hard look at every facet of conduct mentioned in informant testimonies. The book includes shocking reports, both passive encounters and attacks of aggression, and puts to rest rumors about Mt. St. Helens Sasquatch bodies and related false reports about Hollywood suit maker, John Chambers, and claims that he was involved in the making of an ape suit. Hundreds of never-before-seen behavioral traits associated with the Sasquatch are reviewed in this newly released limited edition narrative.
