About the Author

Sheryn Spencer Waterman is the Gifted Specialist at Flat Rock Middle School in Western North Carolina. Her many accomplishments include “Teacher of the Year” in two schools, National Board Certification (1997), and Founding Fellow for the Teacher’s Network Leadership Institute. She came to teaching after working for several years as a psychotherapist and consultant. She is a member of the Board of Trustees for the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching and has worked on several local, state, regional, and national projects to promote quality teaching. This is her third book on teaching.
