Matt Brogan, wrongly imprisoned for the murder of his wife and son, escapes to go in search of the real killers whose evidence brought about his conviction. In the remote town of Alvorado, a hideaway for outlaws on the run and the power base of the McLagan family, Brogan links up with lawman Jed Harding and the pair set out to rid the territory of the rule of fear.
